YOUNG - Robert "Bob" Young, 67, a resident of Albuquerque for more than 60 years, died Thursday, November 11, 2010, surrounded by his family. He was born in Jacksonville, Florida, and came to New Mexico with his family as a child. He was a devoted Husband, Father of three and Grandfather of four, and served with honor in the U. S. Army, doing a tour in Vietnam. In October of 2009, he retired from Southern Wine & Spirits after more than 30 years, as a salesman. In his free time, he could be found watching sports or out on the golf course, usually wearing shorts so he could work on his tan. He is the proud recipient of a "Hole in One." He signed with the St. Louis Cardinals and played baseball professionally for twelve years. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, A. H. "Pep" and Mable Young and his brother, Don. He is survived by his wife of 381/2 years, Vicki; sons, Cory and wife, Ronda, Travis and wife, Terri, and Dustin and fiancée, Monica; grandchildren Shauna, Zachary, Hayden and Brynn. Per his request, no formal services will be held, and interment will be private. The family suggests a contribution to the charity of your choice in Bob’s memory |
